LANTERN

East Asia is home to a number of ancient and rich cultures that have had a profound impact on American society and our individual lives. As an online arts & letters magazine, Lantern seeks to display that culture in the diverse ways it manifests itself. And the best part? 100% of our content comes from AU students and staff. 

We want Lantern to be a forum where members of the AU community can have their artwork published and discussed. If you have Asia-related artwork, be it visual or written, that you want to see on our website, we encourage you to submit.

We envision Lantern, as AU's first Asia-related publication, to be the forefront of creative engagement at AU and thereby foster peace. That is, after all, why we chose "lantern" as our name. As Confucius said, having an enlightened soul is the first step to world peace. We hope Lantern can bring light to the hearts of our submitters and readers.
